Diversity Scholarships

Celebrating #WBW2017

World Breastfeeding Week

with iLactation’s 5th annual Diversity Scholarships

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated from August 1 – 7 in many countries of the world. We’d like to celebrate again this year by offering to help IBCLCs, CLCs, aspiring lactation consultants, midwives, and other health professionals further their education with a number of full and half scholarships for our Breastfeeding in a changing world conference which starts online on September 15, 2017. The scholarship includes full registration and continuing education credits. iLactation is proud to have supported health professionals from 22 countries with our Diversity scholarships since they were established in 2013.

Selection criteria:

  • Demographic Diversity (geographic, ethnic, social diversity)
  • Life experiences or involvement living or working in diverse organizations or communities

To apply please submit a letter of 250 words or less detailing the above, and also state how you contribute to the diversity of the lactation consultant profession. All full scholarship recipients agree to submit a short report when they have completed the conference.

Applications must be sent to
Closing date for applications: the last day of World Breastfeeding Week, August 7, 2017.

Applications now closed.

Winners will be announced on August 15, 2017

The fine print: iLactation Diversity Scholarships are awarded at discretion of iLactation and decisions are final. “Full scholarship” means the full conference registration fee is covered. “Half scholarship” means you receive a 50% discount on the applicable conference fees for your country category, and you agree to pay 50% yourself. If you do not wish to accept a half scholarship if offered, please indicate this in your application. Scholarships must be taken for the September – November 2017 conference and cannot be redeemed for money. Previous scholarship recipients will not be considered.
