Frequently Asked Questions
LOGIN
I forgot my password. What should I do?
Request a new password by clicking on ‘Forgot password’ on the login page. You need the email address with which you are known at iLactation. Is that email address no longer in use? Then create a new account.
Can’t login. What should I do?
Please check that the email address entered is the same as the email address used to create your iLactation account.
Especially with group registrations (or by employers) sometimes a different email address is passed on than the one you are trying to log in with. If you are registered with a group, first check your email address with the person who arranged the (group) registration for you.
ENTERING THE CONFERENCE
Where can I log in?
Computer: On a desktop computer you will see ‘Participant login’ at the top right.
Phone/tablet: If you want to log in with a phone or tablet, you will find the login menu behind three horizontal lines at the top right.
How does iLactation work?
For instructions, watch the “Welcome Video”. You can open this on the main conference page after you have joined the conference after logging in.
I’m signed in and have paid, but can’t see the presentations. What’s going wrong?
Perhaps your payment has not been successful or is still on the way. As soon as the payment has been received by iLactation, the presentations are accessible once the conference is open. Note: if you have paid as a senior or student, or through a method other than Paypal, you will get access to the conference within 24 hours of your payment (if the conference is open).
It is also possible that you are trying to log in with an email address that is not known to iLactation. See above under “Failed to log in” to resolve this issue.
I want to pause a presentation and continue listening later. How do I do that?
You do not have to do anything. When you pause a presentation, it automatically picks up where you left off when it resumes.
I want to view a selection of presentations and receive continuing education credits for these presentations only. Is that possible?
Yes, watch the ones you wish to view and then print the appropriate certificate.
I can see the handouts, but I can’t see the videos. Why? The videos can sometimes take a while to load the first time, depending on your internet connection. If you click on the presentation you wish to view, try waiting without clicking anywhere else on the page for the video to load. If you are trying to view at your place of work, sometimes some sites are blocked for some content. Some home routers have settings that block some content too.

Yes, download all the relevant certificates.
I need a certificate. How can I get that?
You can download and print your certificate yourself. If you are logged in you will see a ‘Certificates’ next to the conferences you have attended. Choose the appropriate certificate for your credits. Note that certificates are available upon completion of the evaluation of the conference.
Can I change my name on the certificate?
Yes, that’s possible. If you are logged in, at the top right of the screen, you can click on your name and change your display name under ‘Settings’.
How are my credits tracked?
iLactation’s conference software automatically keeps track of which presentations you have completed.
Important:
In order to be eligible for continuing education credits for iLactation’s conferences, you must have viewed a presentation in full, either in one sitting or in several sittings. You must complete the full conference Evaluation to release your certificate. iLactation tracks and submits viewing records for each participant to IBLCE and other certifying authorities.
I took the IBLCE self-assessment to prepare for re-certification and I am required to get 5 CERPs in certain topic areas according to the IBLCE Detailed Content Outline. I completed some iLactation conferences in the past. How do I know what topic areas the past presentations fit into?
You should review the Detailed Content Outline here and then match which presentation topics you would like to allocate to the required topic areas yourself. Since this requirement started at the end of 2021, iLactation certificates contains suggested topic areas as a guide only. You will need to decide which topic area is applicable for your needs. CERPs completed in the past 5 years can be used for recertification purposes. For conferences prior to the late 2021 change in IBLCE requirements, you will need to decide the topic areas yourself.
