Lactation Conversations

Target Audience: This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of Physicians, Neonatologists, Pediatricians, GPs, IBCLCs, Nurse practitioners, Registered Nurses, Midwives, Registered dietitians, CLCs, Peer supporters, Doulas, and Childbirth educators.

Conference Objectives: At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to:
  1. Outline strategies to assist families in specific circumstances impacting lactation.
  2. Discuss social and ethical issues surrounding policy decisions affecting maternal and infant health on a global scale.
  3. Describe some new research evidence which may require review of current lactation practice and advice.
  4. Recognise elements of our work as lactation practitioners which contribute to professional excellence; and can also support us in sustaining it.
  5. Identify new approaches to some significant breastfeeding challenges.

Accreditation and Designation:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association and iLactation. The IPMA is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 19.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
